ABSTRACT WRITING RULES

General Principles:

- In the congress, all studies such as review, original research, case report, etc. can be presented as poster and oral presentations.

- The congress language is Turkish / English; papers must be submitted in both languages. Candidates for poster and oral presentations must first register at Login. Then, an abstract of their papers will be sent online from the congress web page (https://tuak.org/index.php/tuak/index) in Microsoft Office Word format.

- In order for the paper application to be evaluated, the author who will make the presentation must be registered for the congress.

- The submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Congress Scientific Committee and at least two scientific referees, and the scientific committee will decide on the suitability and acceptance of the papers and the form of presentation (poster or oral). In the event that the first two referees cannot make a decision, the abstract/summary will be sent to the third referee. The responsibility for referee corrections/suggestions belongs entirely to the author(s).

- The presented papers will be available in the Congress Abstract Book, which will be published in ‘PDF’ format on the website https://tuak.org/index.php/tuak/index after the congress.

Writing Principles:

- Oral/Poster Papers in the Research Category; 1. Introduction, 2. Objective, 3. Method, 4. Results, 5. Discussion and Conclusion, 6. Keywords (Keywords should be written as maximum 5 words with the first letter capitalised and commas between each word) 7. Bibliography (at least 5 references should be cited in Vancouver style).

- For review and other studies, it is sufficient to prepare abstracts as plain text, provided that the word count limit (300 words) is kept. Review studies can be written as a single paragraph and keywords and bibliography (at least 5 references should be cited in Vancouver style) should be added at the bottom. Keywords should be written as maximum 5 words with the first letter capitalised and a comma between each word.

- Case presentations should consist of 1.Introduction 2.Case presentation 3.Discussion and Conclusion 4.Keywords. 5.Bibliography (at least 5 references should be cited in Vancouver style) Keywords should be written as maximum 5 words with the first letter capitalised and a comma between each word.

- Abstract titles should be written using capital characters.

- The abstract should be limited to a maximum of 300 words excluding keywords and should be written in Times New Roman font, 12 pt, justified text, line spacing 1.5.

- If figures, tables and similar visual elements are used in the abstract, these elements should be referred to in the text and then the necessary information should be presented in the bibliography.

- The names and surnames of the authors, their titles and institutions should be clearly written at the bottom. The name of the presenting author should be underlined and that author must be registered. Institutional information and e-mail addresses of other authors should be provided under the title of the paper.

Note: If the work you submit to our congress is derived from a thesis, the name of the supervisor of your thesis must be indicated as the second author of the work. This is important to show the contribution and approval of your supervisor.

All participants are obliged to obtain the approval of their supervisors and to indicate their names correctly in their studies. The responsibility in this regard lies entirely with the participants.

Otherwise, the author who uploaded the study to the system is solely responsible for any legal or other problems that may arise. Our congress reserves all its rights against such negative situations.

Please prepare your work by paying attention to this issue.

ORAL PRESENTATION RULES

Oral presentations should be prepared according to the time determined by the congress organising committee (7 minutes presentation + 3 minutes discussion).

Presentations should be prepared not to exceed 15 slides.

Please visit the congress website for oral presentation template.
